The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Maria Ryan can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: A Tribute to an Overcomer

Born in a concentration camp in Poland. Emigrated to the U.S. with her mom to the home of an abusive stepdad. Rescued by her cousins; my father's family-a family with problems of their own.

Heart surgery. Cancer. Survivor.

She never saw her circumstances as a reason to quit. She did well in school. She built a successful business.

She surrounded herself with beautiful things and Bible verses.

She saw herself as being able to overcome by perseverance. By hard work. By a positive attitude. By faith in God. She never gave up.

Even at the end she was not ok with dying. She passed away at 72 years of age, the same age my father would have been had he lived.

Overcomer. Maria. Her life was a miracle.

I only regret not seeing you more and letting my children get to know you better. Rest in Peace, Maria. I love you. I admire you.

You survived when others quit. I will never forget you. I think of you when I feel like giving up. Maria overcame much more.....I can do it, too.

See you in heaven, cousin. Give my dad a hug.
