Maria  Ryan
Funeral Mass for Maria (nee Komarnicky) Ryan, 72, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Stephen’s Byzantine Catholic Church, 532 Lloyd Road, Euclid. (Family and friends are asked to meet at church.)
Mrs. Ryan passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at her residence with her family at her side.
Born April 7, 1943, in Germany, she was a Lake County resident for 24 years, living in Mentor.
She was a 1963 graduate of Bellmar High School of Bellevernon, Pa. She was a member of St. Stephen’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Euclid and a former social member of Chagrin Lagoons Yacht Club.
Mrs. Ryan was an employee of Weatherhead as a tax accountant and was also a sales director with Home Interiors and Gifts for more than 30 years.
She was the beloved wife of 38 years to Thomas E. "Tucker" Ryan; loving mother of Stacey S. Ryan (Eric C. Intihar); sister of Emil Komarnicky (Wanda Urwin); sister-in-law of Richard (Patricia) Ryan; best friend of Donna Mika and her beloved family; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Albert Grueser; mother, Olga Komarnycka; and her “honorary parents,” Michael and Mary Wysochanski and their children, Michael and Beverly.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, where a Parastas Service will also be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in her name be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110, or St. Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, 532 Lloyd Road, Euclid, OH 44132.
