Obituary for Reita M. Crawford (Williams)

Funeral Mass for Reita M. (nee Williams) Crawford, 83, of Fairport Harbor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 316 5th St., Fairport Harbor. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at the church.) Burial will be private. Mrs. Crawford passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015. Born Jan. 18, 1932, in Euclid, she was a resident of Lake County for 50 years, living in Mentor before moving to Fairport Harbor, and had also wintered in Punta Gorda, Fla., for 30 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Fairport Harbor and was active in the Lake County Women’s Republican Club, where she served as a former President and as an Ohio Delegate for Ronald Reagan. She was also active in the Junior Women’s League and a member of the Women’s Committee of Lakeland Civic Orchestra. In her retirement, she served on the board and as President of the Emerald Pointe Condo Association. Her hobbies included her children, grandchildren, tennis, cooking, and entertaining. She also loved learning technology skills. Mrs. Crawford was an English and home economics teacher for Mentor Schools at Mentor High School and a stay-at-home mom, to raise her children. She also had a career in corporate training for Parker-Hannifin Corporation, and in real estate, having been named “Realtor of the Year.” She taught real estate classes at Lakeland Community College and served on the Board of Trustees at Lakeland Community College. She was the beloved wife of 56 years to Allyn S. Crawford; loving mother of Allyson A. (Rich) Clemmensen of Agoura, Calif., and Shari E. (Scott) Wiesler of Hinckley; cherished grandmother of Alex and Tyler, Zack, Allysa and Jillian; and aunt of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Craig A. Crawford; parents, Earl and Mildred (nee Print) Williams; and siblings, Al, Rich and Kathy Williams. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name are suggested to Lake Catholic High School, c/o Craig Crawford Memorial Scholarship Fund, 6733 Reynolds Road, Mentor, OH 44060.
