Funeral Mass for Patrick Matthew Ziegler, 24, of Mentor, will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord Township. Patrick passed away Saturday, May 25, 2013, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was born May 5, 1989, in Mayfield Heights. Patrick was a 2007 graduate of Mentor High School and a senior at Coastal Carolina University, majoring in health promotion. He enjoyed all Cleveland sports teams, especially the Cavaliers. Patrick really loved his family and friends. He had a heart of gold, which touched many. “His smile and sense of humor, along with his compassion for people, will always be in our hearts. We will forever miss him.” He was the beloved son of Michael and Jane (nee Allen) Ziegler; loving brother of Aaron Michael (Keri) Ziegler of Mentor and Hayley Jane (Mark) Clark of Painesville Township; dear uncle of Tyson, Gracie, Chloe, Maggie and Emma; cherished grandson of Carolyn Allen of Kirtland; and nephew of Colleen Ann (Richard) Mahoney, Mary Therese Falvey, Molly Wakeman, Sally (Paul) Pietrolungo, Barb (Jack) Morris and Max (Mary Jo) Allen. He also leaves cousins; and his prize dog, “Zeus.” He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, John T. Ziegler and Ellen A. (nee Callahan) Falvey; and maternal grandfather, Paul Allen; and uncle, Carl Allen. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
