Frank J. Sacher, 86, born Jan. 4, 1925, in Cleveland, died April 14, 2011, at home surrounded by his family. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Europe in the 274th Field Artillery. After graduating from Ohio State University in 1949, he became a certified public accountant. He moved to Willoughby in 1950, where he owned his own accounting practice in downtown Willoughby for over 40 years. He was a member and past president of the Willoughby Kiwanis Club and also served on the board of the United States Draft Board for two years. He was an active member of Immaculate Conception Church, helping to form the parish council with Msg. McMahon. He served on the finance committee for many years, was a lector and was a member of the choir for 30 years. He was treasurer of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, and a member of the Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rosella (Breitfeller); sons, Thomas of Tucson, Ariz., and James (Jennifer) of Lyndhurst; daughter, Joan (Dave) Ratajczak of Maineville; three granddaughters; three grandsons; sister, Rita; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Joseph; parents, Frank and Bernice (Huber) Sacher; and brother-in-law, Misch. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Father Michael Troha will officiate. Interment will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Mr. Sacher's memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 E. 185th St., Cleveland, OH 44119.
