Obituary for Frank M "Tank" "Sweetheart" Morich

Celebration of life services for Frank M. “Tank” “Sweetheart” Morich, 91, of Fairport Harbor, will be 7:30 p.m. Monday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby.
Mr. Morich passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Aug. 6, 1924, in Crescent Heights, Pa., he had been a Lake County resident for 60 years, living in Eastlake before moving to Fairport Harbor.
Frank was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II, as a medic and was a recipient of five Bronze Stars. He was a war hero. He loved carpentry and building furniture for his children. He also enjoyed sports, fishing and was a great dancer.
He was the beloved husband of 29 years to Anita J. (nee Swader) Morich; loving father of Mary Kathleen (Dennis) Fox, Michele Jeremia Morich, Dr. Michael A. (Deborah) Morich and Kimberly Ann Plickert; cherished grandfather of 16; great-grandfather of eight; brother of Nick Morich; and uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sons, Frank Gregory, John Anthony and Michael Andrew Morich; parents, Vinko and Manda (nee Turkovic) Morich; siblings, George Morich, Paul "Tubby" Morich, Holly Morich, Helen Hawrenchar and Rose Peterson; and son-in-law, Patrick Plickert.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at The Abbey of Willoughby. Burial will be private.
