Funeral services for Norma J. (Berryman) Cavanaugh, 89, of Willowick will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Born Dec. 27, 1921, in Scranton, Pa., she passed away quietly Feb. 26, 2011, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Cavanaugh was retired from Bailey Meter Company. She was a volunteer at Lake West Medical Center and a bell ringer for the Salvation Army. Norma was a member of Bally Health Spa for more than 20 years and credited her long life to exercise. She had been an active member of Shoregate Methodist Church since 1957, which was an important part of her life. She is survived by her children; Carol A. Lucas of Mentor, James Cavanaugh (Charlene) of Cincinnati and Sandra Upholster (Russ) of Latrobe, Pa.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry (Kay) Berryman; and sister-in-law, Margie Berryman. She was preceded in death by her husband, James M.; parents, Harry and Gertrude (Morgan) Berryman; brothers, Mark Berryman and Jack Berryman; and sister-in-law, Lucy Berryman. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shoregate Methodist Church, 30500 Bayridge Blvd., Willowick, OH 44095.
