Funeral services for John J. Sprafka, 51, of Wickliffe will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. The Rev. Donald Beaumont of Bethel Lutheran Church in Willowick will officiate at the service. Mr. Sprafka passed away June 21, 2012, at his residence. Born June 17, 1961, in Willoughby, he was a lifetime Lake County resident. John loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, boating and camping. He worked as a autobody repairman, working the last two years at Excalibur Auto Body Inc. He was the loving father of Jeffrey Sprafka; beloved son of Joseph S. and Dianne J. (Cullen) Sprafka; brother of Jodie Lynn (Terry) Elersic of Lebanon, Mo, Kimberly Sue (Michael) Schwenner of Lakewood and Chief Joseph S. Sprafka Jr., U.S.N., of Guam; grandson of Jennie Sprafka of Painesville; former husband of Susan M. Sprafka of Mentor; uncle to nieces and nephews; and friend of Bill W. He was preceded in death by his sister, Melissa Marie Eggleston. Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. www.MCVfuneralhomes.com
