Funeral Mass for Cora Topazio, 90, of Willowick, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Michael Troha will officiate the Mass. Mrs. Topazio passed away Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Madison Healthcare Center in Madison. Born Feb. 19, 1923, in Campobasso, Italy, she had been a resident of Lake County for 59 years, living in Willoughby and Eastlake before moving to Willowick. Cora was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting, loved to cook and bake, especially anything with Italian cooking, and played Bocce. She was the loving mother of Anna Maria (Joseph) Chabail of Eastlake and Michael F. (Marilyn) Topazio of Willowick; cherished grandmother of Joseph, David and Timothy (Margarita) Chabail, Angela (Brad) Merkel, Michelle Topazio, Gina (Ryan) Roberts, Michael (Saskia) Topazio Jr., and Carla (Robert) Fitzgerald; great-grandmother of Chadwick and Joseph Chabail, Jessica (Oliver) Katila, Monica and Charlotte Chabail, Sara, Elizabeth and Geena Merkel, Kayla and Jacqulyn Beavers. Giovannie, Christian, Nicholas, Vincenzo and Valentina Topazio, Connor Roberts, Roselyn Fitzgerald and Luciano Chabail; great-great-grandmother of Keagan Katila; and siblings, Lucia Carlini and Maria DiNonno. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francesco “Frank” Topazio in 1985; parents, Carlo and Carmela; and siblings, Michele, Antonio, Eleanora and Giovannina. Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
