Funeral Mass for Christine Mary (Obstarczyk) Foegen, 69, of Eastlake, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Fr. Kevin Liebhardt will officiate. Mrs. Foegen peacefully passed away at home Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, surrounded by her family. Born Nov. 15, 1941, in Buffalo, N.Y., she moved to Ohio in 1965. Christine was a member of St. Justin Martyr Church in Eastlake and a former member of the P.T.A. at St. Justin Martyr School. She loved scrapbooking and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Foegen was in the catering business, working for Hough Catering for 13 years and with Elan Catering. She was the beloved wife of Raymond N. Foegen; loving mother of Ronald J. (Gayle) Foegen of Mentor-on-the-Lake, James R. (Kelly) Foegen of Stow, Mark C. Foegen of Atlantic, Iowa, Kathleen A. (David) Virant of Willowick and Michael T. (Shelly) Foegen of Eastlake; cherished grandmother of Bethany, Brian, Sarah, Jacob, Rebecca, Kelsey, Ashley, David "DJ," Matthew and Christien and sister of Leonard (Kathy Sullivan) Obstarczyk of Buffalo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Emily (Fronckowiak) Obstarczyk. The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. "We would like to thank the nurses from the Cleveland Clinic - Gert, Barb, Linda and Monique - for their special care for the last 10 years."
