Gary C "Bubba"  Smith
Celebration of Life of services for Gary C. “Bubba” Smith, 54, of Mentor, will be 7 p.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Church, 7193 Reynolds Road, Mentor.
Mr. Smith passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2016, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Oct. 10, 1962, in Painesville, he had been a lifetime resident of Lake County.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Church in Mentor, one of the original founders of the Deepwood Run and was an active supporter and volunteer for Deepwood of Mentor. He also loved motorcycling and enjoyed woodworking.
Mr. Smith was a PCC for Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 5. This was a lifelong career that he enjoyed and excelled at.
Gary was the beloved husband of 30 years to Amy L. (nee Grose) Smith; loving father of Victory AJP Smith; niece who Gary loved like a daughter, Alexandra Amy; grandson of Fred and Ethel Wetzel; brother of Robert Smith, Christopher Smith (Katie Brown), Tania (Bob) Allen, Jeffrey Smith and Seth Smith; son-in-law of Douglas and Joan (nee Windeler) Grose; brother-in-law of Nancy (Pete) Grendze, Diana Hollander and Ainslie Reschke (Chris, brother-in-law and best friend); and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service. Bubba would be wearing jeans, so please feel free to do so. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made in care of the family.
