Obituary for Allyn S Crawford

Allyn S Crawford
“Together Again”
Allyn S. Crawford, 84, of Fairport Harbor, passed away Monday, Aug. 24, 2015, at his residence in Fairport Harbor.
Born March 15, 1931, in Euclid, he had been a resident of Punta Gorda, Fla., for 30 years and Lake County for 50 years, living in Mentor before moving to Fairport Harbor.
His trade was painting and hanging wallpaper. Many repeat customers throughout the Cleveland area were happy with his talent and craftwork. He was also a Korean War veteran, serving in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany.
Allyn was an active member of the Republican Party and served as a committee precinct chairman. He was a hardworking, loving, and caring husband and dad, who came home every day by 5 p.m. to eat dinner with his family. He was a generous supporter to many charities, especially Native American charities. He continued working and painting for friends up until the last year of his life. Allyn died from a broken heart after losing his wife, Reita and two children, Shari and Craig.
He was the loving father of Allyson A. (Rich) Clemmensen of Agoura, Calif.; father-in-law of Scott Wiesler of Hinckley; and fun-loving grandfather of Alex, Tyler, Zack, Allysa, and Jillian. Allyn leaves Collinwood friends, Panera buddies, and many other loving friends in Punta Gorda and the Mentor area. All will miss his delightful sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Reita M. (nee Williams) Crawford; children, Shari E. Wiesler and Craig A. Crawford; and parents, Scott and Lillian (nee Sheldon) Crawford.
Burial will be private.
The family remembers his love of sweets and asks that you enjoy a cookie or treat in remembrance of him.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
