Funeral services for Marie T. Hammond, 89, of Concord Township, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave., Willoughby (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home). Fr. Chris Zerucha will officiate. Marie passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, at Heartland of Mentor. Born May 4, 1925, in Buffalo, N.Y., she had been a Lake County resident for 25 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Concord Township. She was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Concord Township. Marie was a caregiver for her family and was an excellent seamstress who liked sharing with her family and friends. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Marie spent the last years of her life with her nephew, Jaime and Kelly Spence. Marie was the beloved daughter of the late William and Ann (nee Duffy) Hammond; loving sister of the late William (Grace) Hammond, Murray (Kathleen) Hammond, Monica (Will) Spence, Mary Frances (Billy) Shirilla, Sonny Hammond and Gerard Hammond. Family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at The Abbey of Willoughby prior to the service. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. www.MCVfuneralhomes.com
