Funeral services for Edward A. Knopf, 92, of Willoughby, will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Chris Weber will officiate. Mr. Knopf passed away Sunday, Jan. 25, 2015, at his residence in Willoughby. Born Sept. 2, 1922, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for 57 years, living in Willoughby. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was the beloved husband of 71 years to Mary E. (nee Huelsman) Knopf; loving father of Mary Kaye Zabor of Gurnee, Ill.; father-in-law of Andrew DiGiuseppi of Wenzeville, Mo.; cherished grandfather of Christopher, Sean, Nichole, Brie and Trista; great-grandfather of 11; brother of Ruth Mathey and Judy Stalzer; and uncle of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl A. DiGiuseppi; grandson, Andrew; parents, Adolpf and Lydia (nee Schmidt) Knopf; and siblings, Walter Knopf and Lorrie Knopf. Family will receive friends from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
