Obituary for Clair Marie Dowd
Funeral Mass for Clair Marie (nee Alder) Dowd, 41, of Eastlake, will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Dennis McNeil will officiate.
Mrs. Dowd passed away Monday, April 23, 2018.
Born Jan. 16, 1977, in Willoughby, she had been a lifetime Lake County resident.
Clair loved animals and was a valued legal secretary at Gallagher & Sharp.
She was the loving daughter of Elizabeth (nee Clair) and Francis Alder; beloved wife of Thomas Dowd; dear sister of Michael F. (Jilienne) Alder, Margaret E. (Matthew) Hargas, Jack L. (Hollie) Alder and Andrew F. K. Alder; aunt of Hayley Alder, Chase Alder, Jax Alder, Kylie Alder, Dylan Hargas, Jovie Hargas and Miles Alder; and paternal granddaughter of Frank Alder.
Clair was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Angela (nee Belew) Clair, paternal grandmother, Marie Alder; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John C. and Rita A. (nee Maire) Dowd.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township. The family requests a private internment service.
Donations in her name may be made to the Lake Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
