Obituary for Patricia Ann Bernhardy

Patricia Ann  Bernhardy
Patricia Ann (nee Cowin) Bernhardy, 95, of Willoughby, passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
She was born Nov. 29, 1922, to the late William James and Emma Christine (nee Hammer) Cowin. She was the last surviving child of 10 (Elinor, Gertrude, Clair, Mary, Ruth, William, Jeannette, Betty and Robert).
She married Bertram P. “Bud” Bernhardy in August of 1948. He preceded her in death Feb. 22, 2006, as did her daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Sullivan (wife of B. Paul Bernhardy Jr. Nov. 6, 2015).
She is survived by her two sons, B. Paul Bernhardy (partner, Susan Owens), and Kevin F. Bernhardy (partner, Agnes Parker); nieces, Lois Arthur, Mary Lou Houck and Marilyn Compton; nephews, George Houck and Michael Stanton; three beloved grandchildren, Michaela Lewis (husband, Shannon), Matthew Maras (wife, Carrie) and Thomas Christopher Bernhardy; six great-grandchildren, Madeline, Henry, George, Jessi, Walter and Lucy; and great-great-grandchild, Scarlett.
Patricia held various positions during her life while raising her two sons and making a loving home and environment for her family. She was most proud of her many years of volunteer work at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine in Euclid, making many new friends and working closely with the Sisters of the Most Holy Trinity.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Funeral Mass will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday Jan. 27, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, OH 44110.
