Obituary for James Joseph Foster

Celebration of life services for James J. Foster, 49, of Mentor-on-the-Lake, will be 4:30 p.m. Saturday t McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Foster passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017, Lake Health Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Feb. 8, 1968, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for the majority of his life.
Jim was a 1986 graduate of Riverside High School in Painesville and a U.S. Army veteran, serving with the Military Intelligence Unit. He attended medical school in Europe and was a kind soul, who was loved by many.
Mr. Foster was a former flight attendant with U.S. Airways, who had made friends all over the world. He also worked and assisted the Lake County Coroner’s office.
Jim was the loving son of Beverly A. (nee DeMore) Tramte; beloved brother of Amy B. (Jason) Gardner; and uncle of Kai Foster, Dayna Gardner, Hailey Gardner and MacKenzie Gardner. He also leaves his beloved cat, “Icky.”
He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Foster.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. “Informal wear is suggested.” Burial will be private.
