Graveside services for Fay (nee Blow) Pallak, 88, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Willoughby Memorial Gardens, 38650 Lakeshore Blvd., Willoughby. (Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.)
Fay passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at The Abbey Assisted Living in Mentor, due to complications of pneumonia.
Born March 22, 1928, in Kangaroo Point, Australia, she met and married George Pallak and came to America in 1946, where they started and raised their family in Willoughby.
Fay was employed by the W-E Schools for many years and is fondly remembered by many students as the “Friendly Lunch Lady.” She was a member of Palmer-Roberts American Legion Auxiliary Unit 214 in Willoughby. She enjoyed working in her garden, sharing cookies with the neighborhood children, watching old movies, reading and listening to the Eagles. She especially enjoyed tennis and skiing.
She is survived by her children, Randy (Doris) Pallak of New Lyme, Debbie (Bill) Singleton of Houston, Texas, Kathleen (James) Mortach of Willoughby, and Ann (Michael) Nykiel of Mentor; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, George Pallak; daughter, Linda Korosec; and son, Jeffrey (Pamela) Pallak of Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, March 21, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
