Obituary for Douglas W Cartmell
Funeral services for Douglas W. Cartmell, 73, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Cartmell passed away Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Oct. 4, 1943, in Whitman, W.Va., he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 42 years.
Doug loved the Cleveland Browns, was a huge Yankees fan, and was a member of Country Baptist Church of Mentor.
He was the beloved husband of Cloteen (nee Jefferson) Cartmell; loving father of Robin M. (Gary) Colton of Willowick, Douglas W. (Laurie) Cartmell of Chapin, S.C., and Chris (Andy) Gustie of Crofton, Md.; grandfather of Kayla, Connor, Matthew, Emily and Andrew; brother of Pete Cartmell, Doris Black and Buster Cartmell; and uncle of many.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Margie Mae (nee Vanatter) Cartmell; and brother, Doran Cartmell.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Willoughby Memorial Gardens in Willoughby.
