Obituary for Marie L. Lasko
Funeral Mass for Marie L. Lasko (nee O’Donnell), 76, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Blvd., Eastlake. Father Kevin Liebhardt will officiate at the Mass.
Marie passed away Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016 at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland.
Born Nov. 19, 1939 in Painesville, she had been a lifetime resident of Lake County.
Marie was a longtime active member of the Painesville Eagles, the Willoughby Eagles and St. Justin Martyr Church, where she was active at church with the Lights Group (a prayer group). She was also a member of the Ladies Powder Puff Group at the Painesville Speedway, owned a dragster at Thompson and was the proud owner of a 1968 Powder Blue Chevy Camaro at Thompson Raceway. Marie loved bingo and spending time with her family, especially the Grandkids and spoiling them.
She was a retired employee of General Electric Company, Nela Park and she was very involved with the General Electric Quarter Century Club.
Marie was the loving mother of Barbara J. (Michael) Moran, Debra M. (John) Weber and Frank E. (Sandy Wainio) Daugherty Jr; sister of Daniel V. (Ellie) O’Donnell, JoAnn Marshall, Thomas J. O’Donnell, and
Michael J. (Florence) O’Donnell; cherished grandmother of Joseph, Jeffrey (Sarah), Brooke, Christina, Michael (Denise), Kelly (Jack), David, Jenna and Samuel; great grandmother of Monica, Sidney, Elliot, Caleb and Olivia; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph J. and Florence E. (nee Allen) O’Donnell; sister, Barbara J. Bracken; and sister-in-law, Donna O’Donnell.
Family will receive friends 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
