Obituary for Jerry Day

Jerry Day
Jerry Day, age 55, died Sunday, October 2, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. Jerry fought a hard battle after surgery in June, but just could not fight all the other events that came his way.
Jerry was born May 30, 1961, and grew up in Lakeline and attended Eastlake North High, Class of 1979. Jerry held several jobs during his adult life as a truck driver, bartender/bouncer (at various bars in the area), golf cart mechanic, beverage store attendant, driver at Woodhill Supply and prior to surgery as a host/maintenance at Rider’s Inn.
Jerry was very comfortable doing a variety of activities including riding a motorcycle, sitting in his backyard drinking coffee in the morning, going camping in the hills of Pennsylvania with bestie “GF” and friends, sitting to all hours of the night listening to music on the patio, having fun on the “Happy Porch,” riding for causes, or just enjoying good company at a local bar. He always supported the band “Probable Cause,” telling them how they sounded and was always up for just about anything.
Jerry is survived by his sisters, Christine (Al) Luman, Patricia (Robert) Strnad and Stacey Devine; sons, Zachary Day, Darin Day, and Jason Siringer; the light of his life his granddaughter, Kendall; along with nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Judith Day.
Jerry's family and close friends would like to invite all to a "CELEBRATION OF LIFE" from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, October 15th, at Jeanne's, 36091 Vine St., Eastlake, OH 44095.
In lieu of flowers, donations to cover final expenses would be appreciated. Contact Priscilla Hyclak for more information or see Priscilla at the Celebration.
The family thanks everyone for all you have done, the prayers and great thoughts that have been sent to him during this ordeal. His family is deeply overwhelmed with the out pouring for their brother. It is welcoming that he was so loved and appreciated by so many.
“May you soar with eagles and fly with the Angels our dear friend. The place you are now has not sorrow or pain, you walk in green pastures with skies of blue above. We will love and miss you and will see you again.”
