Obituary for Joseph J Rubal

Joseph J  Rubal
Funeral Mass for Joseph J. Rubal, 78, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Fr. Tim Plavac will officiate the Mass.
Mr. Rubal passed away Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at The Cleveland Clinic.
Born June 21, 1938, in Beaverdale, Pa., he had been a resident of Lake County for the past 57 years, living in Mentor.
He was a member of St. Bede the Venerable Church in Mentor, where he was active at church with Helping Hands, Bocce and as an Altar server. Mr. Rubal was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Ashtabula Rod and Gun Club, Ohio Central Basin Steelheaders, and loved fishing. He was a volunteer at Metro Parks Fishing Program with children and helped at the Homeless Shelter in Painesville.
Mr. Rubal retired from Stamco Industries in 2000, after 18 years of service. He had previously worked at American Stamping for 25 years.
He was the beloved husband of 57 years to Myrna L. (nee Keirn) Rubal; loving father of Jody Kiss (Mark Mettler), Joe (Cindy) Rubal and Joel (Ann) Rubal; cherished grandfather of John Kiss, Lauren Mettler, Samantha Rubal, Jennifer Rubal and Allison Rubal; Godfather of Richard Felton and Julie Lytle; brother of Dolores Rubal, Eileen “Linky” (Richard “Jack") Felton; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anne (nee Hohla) Rubal; and brother, Leonard Rubal.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north or Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery.
In addition to flowers, the family suggests contributions be made in his name to Cleveland Clinic Foundation,
