Obituary for Josephine Grace DeFilippo

Josephine Grace DeFilippo
Funeral Mass for Josephine Grace (nee Petrilli) DeFilippo, 93, will be 12 noon Friday at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick.
Mrs. DeFilippo passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Cleveland, the daughter of the late Perry and Angela Petrilli.
Josephine was a 1942 graduate of Collinwood High School and was head of her class reunion planning committee for many years. After graduation, she worked as a secretary at Bailey Meter Company and Cleveland Graphite Bronze. She then devoted her life to raising her family and living life to the fullest; travelling, taking pictures, bowling, dancing, gardening, apple picking in the fall and baking. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and enjoyed telling fascinating stories of days gone by.
“Josephine touched many lives by her loving ways. We will carry her love with us always and she will live in our hearts forever.”
She was the loving mother of Carl P. (Karen) DeFilippo of Montville, Joanne M. (Rick) Broz of Huron and Perry D. (Tina) DeFilippo of St. Augustine, Fla.; devoted grandmother of Angela M. (Dustin) Mills and Richard D. (Amanda) Broz; great-grandmother of Abigail Grace Mills; special “Auntie Jo” to many loving nieces and nephews; and will be remembered by many lifelong friends.
Josephine was preceded in death by her beloved husband and dance partner of 48 years, Domenic; parents; and siblings, Frank, Ernest and Lillian.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
