Marianne (Pursch)  Balash
Funeral Mass for Marianne (nee Pursch) Balash, 73, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Fr. Timothy Kalista will officiate.
Mrs. Balash passed away peacefully Thursday, June 30, 2016, at her residence with her family at her side.
Born Oct. 13, 1942, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lake County for the past 61 years, living in Cleveland before moving to Willoughby.
Marianne was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby and Willoughby Eagles Aerie 2300 Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play bingo and gamble. She also enjoyed lunches with her high school friends and was a member of the first graduating class of Willoughby South High School.
Marianne was the loving mother of Joseph A. Balash, Michael G. (Tabytha Lynn) Balash and Julie A. (Jamie) Bauer; cherished grandmother of Joey Balash, Shelby Dake, Brandon Balash, Michael Balash, Hannah Balash, Matthew Balash, Brianna Bauer and James Bauer; great-grandmother of Lennox; and sister of Kathy Pursch and Judy Ponikvar.
She was preceded by her beloved husband, Joseph G. Balash in 2007; granddaughter, Becca Ann Balash; parents, Anthony and Jean (nee Drozin) Pursch; brother-in-law, Jack Ponikvar; and daughter-in-law of the late Joseph J. Balash and Helen Kintzler.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, where the Willoughby Eagles Ladies Auxiliary will conduct a memorial service at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
