Earl "Boots"  Muir
Earl “Boots” Muir, 89, of Willowick, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2016, at his residence.
He was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Nikep, Md., and had been a Lake County resident for the past 37 years, living in Willowick.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during World War II with the 88th Infantry. Boots was also a member of V.F.W. Post 5280 in Lonaconing, Md., and enjoyed gardening and yard work.
Mr. Muir retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
He was the loving father of Debbie Martin, Kim (Gene) Tompkins and Kevin Muir; father-in-law of Karla Muir; cherished grandfather of Tammy Engel, Scott Muir, Jeff Muir, Shawn Tompkins, Tyler Tompkins, Heather Muir and Hailey Muir; great-grandfather of Seth; brother of Sylvia Jean Martin and Eugene Muir; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith K. (nee Warnick) Muir; son, Terry Muir; parents, Charles and Nellie (nee Clupp) Muir; siblings, Alice House, Charles “Buck” Muir, Harold “Archie” Muir, Mary Boore, John “Jack” Muir and Shirley Muir; and son-in-law, Tony Martin.
Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, 8 E. Main St., Lonaconing, Md., where a funeral service will also be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Annex.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
