Obituary for William E. Lynch Sr.

William E.  Lynch Sr.
Funeral Mass for William Edward Lynch Sr., 83, of Kirtland, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Word Catholic Church, 8100 Eagle Rd, Kirtland.
Mr. Lynch passed away Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
Born Nov. 13, 1932 in Painesville, he was a lifetime resident of Lake County.
William was a member of Divine Word Catholic Church and the Irish American Club East Side
in Euclid. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War on the USS Roanoke.
He was also a member of V.F.W. Post 1500, American Legion Post 214 and the USS San Pablo Association. He loved gardening and raised chickens and grew grapes.
He was a bricklayer for 50 years and was a past President of the AFLCIO Bricklayers Union.
William was the beloved husband of 57 years to Ann M. (nee Lastoria) Lynch; loving father of Jean M. (Kevin) McCaffrey of Chicago, Janet A. Malm of Mentor, William E. Lynch Jr. of Kirtland; father-in-law of Mary Wittreich; cherished grandfather of Ryan (Melanie), Sean, Colin, Colleen, Kelly, Brandon, Taylor, Jordan and Christopher; great-grandfather of Brayden and Danielle; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He also leaves his dog, “Gennie”.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, Carl Wittreich; and siblings, Phyllis Lynch, Raymond (Lia) Lynch, Patrick (Eileen) Lynch and Sally Shea.
The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Word Catholic Church prior to the Mass. Burial will be at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
