Obituary for Rebecca Elette "Mom" Knotts

Rebecca Elette "Mom" Knotts
On April 15, 2016, Rebecca Elette Knotts, a.k.a. “Mom,” passed peacefully into the final stage of her lifes' journey at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland after a one year battle with cancer.
Rebecca was born March 7, 1955, in Shaker Heights.
This gracious, charitable and self-sacrificing woman was known as “Mom” to almost everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her because of the calm demeanor and compassionate attitude which she never ceased to display to all those she came in contact with. Mom's hobbies included art and gardening. She had a deep empathy for animals as well, especially dogs. Her special canine companion’s cremains will be buried alongside her final resting place.
Given her the beautiful nature of this woman, “Mom,” Rebecca will indeed be missed by a great number of people. However, she would be comforted in knowing that the fabric of love woven between these great many people will forever carry on, circulating, growing, and eternalizing the essence that was her nature. May she rest peacefully.
She leaves behind two children, Mindy and Cody; two grandchildren, Kaia (age 15), and Austin (age 4). Additional survivors of this woman's wonderful legacy include her mother, Bette; brother, Monte; and sister, Debbie.
Keith Allan May, her first born, sadly passed away before his mother. Her father, Nathan, is also deceased.
Graveside services will be held 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016, at Larned Cemetery (located at the intersection of Mentor Road and Hermitage), in Chardon 44024.
The family would appreciate the consideration of redirecting any funds you planned on spending for flowers or gifts to making a donation to one of the two following wonderful charities listed as “Mom” would have wanted. Donations can be made to Chardon Living Memorial Park at www.chardonlivingmemorialpark.org Phone (440) 273-3077; or Lake Humane Society and Adoption Center at www.lakehumane.org Phone (440) 951-6122.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
