Obituary for Alan J. Holmecki

Alan J. Holmecki, age 69, passed away Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015 at his residence with his family at his side. Alan was born on Oct. 14, 1945 in Chicago, IL. He was a Lake County resident living in Mentor for 32 years and previously in Wickliffe. Alan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a TV trivia junkie, a Chicago Cubs fan as well as a Browns fan. He adored his grandchildren and great grandchildren as well.
Alan is survived by his loving wife, Lucille (nee DeCurtis) of 45 years. He was the loving father of Michelle (Mike) Brindley and Michael; cherished grandfather of Dillon, Dulci, Makenzie, Danica, Giovanni, Mikal, and great grandfather of Adabelle, Kolton, and one on the way. He was a dear brother to his sisters, Mae (Rich) Zabukovec and Mary Rassmussen.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Mary (nee Karolewicz) Holmecki; his brother, Robert and sister, Sue.
The family will receive friends at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Rt. 615, North of Rt. 2) Mentor, Wednesday 4:00-8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM Oct. 8, 2015 at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Rd., Mentor. Father James Roach will be officiating. Burial in Mentor Cemetery.
