Funeral Mass for Mary C. (nee Travarca) Artino, 94, of Chester Township, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Anselm Church, 12969 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Fr. Thomas Sweany will officiate the Mass.
Mrs. Artino passed away Sunday, Sept. 6, 2015, at her residence with her loving family at her side.
Born March 15, 1921, in Cleveland, she had lived in Mayfield Heights before moving to Chester Township 59 years ago.
Mary was a member of St. Anselm Church in Chester Township, where she was also a member of the St. Anselm’s Prayer Shawl Group and the “Young at Hearts.” She bowling at Wickliffe Lanes with the Shorehaven Stars and enjoyed knitting, cooking and baking. Mary was also an excellent seamstress.
She was the loving mother of Marie (James) Siddall, Anthony J. (Diane) Artino, Joseph F. (Karen) Artino and Kathleen M. DelDuchetto; cherished grandmother of James Siddall Jr., Deanna Harnett, Laura Bentley, Melissa Krebs, Andrea Freveletti, Toni Meese, Adam DelDuchetto, Michael Singer and Scott Singer; great-grandmother of Sophia, Sydney, McKenna, Gibson, Delaney, Colton, Luke, Caden, Parker, Maddalena, Cayden and Lyndzee; sister of Teresa Hoernig and Biaggio “Bill” Travarca; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Anthony N. Artino in 1988; parents, Biaggio and Antonia (nee Naso) Travarca; sibings, Jimmy Travarca, Carmelo Travarca, Joe Travarca, Rose Vitale, Charles Travarca and Sam Travarca; son-in-law, James DelDuchetto.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested in her name to Cleveland Clinic Hospice, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195.
