Obituary for Noreen E Garriga
Funeral Mass for Noreen E. (nee Franey) Garriga, “1990 Irish Mother of the Year,” 88, of Lyndhurst, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paschal Baylon Church, 5384 Wilson Mills Road, Highland Heights.
Mrs. Garriga passed away Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at her residence.
Born June 1, 1927, in Cleveland, she had been a resident of Lyndhurst for the past 44 years.
She was the loving mother of Robert E. Garriga, Dennis P. Garriga, Noreen “Sandy” (Jeff) Paplow, Craig Paul Garriga, Coleen M. (joe) Matlock, Michael L. Garriga, Kathleen D. (Mark) Telgarsky and Maureen E. “Mony” Garriga; cherished grandmother of 25; great-grandmother of 25; great-great-grandmother of one; sister of Patrick Franey, Marge McGinty, E.J. Franey and twin brother, Bill Franey; and aunt of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert “Red-Pierre” Garriga; son, William R. “Pete” Garriga; daughter-in-law, Rose, nee Blatt) Garriga; and parents, Edward and Margaret (nee Hart) Franey.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at The Fioritto Funeral Home, 5236 Mayfield Road (east of Richmond Road), Lyndhurst. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
