Randal Simon  Kooyman
Funeral Mass for Randal Simon Kooyman, 41, of Madison, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Cyprian Church, 4223 Middle Ridge Road, Perry.
Mr. Kooyman passed away Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at Heartland of Mentor.
Born Jan. 7, 1974, in Willoughby, he had been a lifetime Lake County resident.
He was a 1993 graduate of Perry High School and a manager of the football team at Perry. He was a member of the Lake County 4-H Rabbit Club, Special Olympics Softball and Basketball at Deepwood, enjoyed ceramics, coloring and making greeting cards.
He was the beloved son of Paul J. and Joann (nee O’Brien) Hlabse Sr.; brother of Terry Kooyman, Bradford Kooyman, and Paul J. Hlabse Jr.; nephew of Steve (Ruth) Hlabse, Phil Hlabse, Marie Laurienzo and Patricia (Scott) Skrjanc; and uncle of Terry Jr., Mason and Dylan Kooyman and Camryn Chapman; cousin of Nella Laurienzo and many others.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Kooyman; maternal grandparents, Eugene and Katherine O’Brien; and grandparents, Richard and Antoinette Hlabse.
The family would like to extend a most sincere thank you to the healthcare professionals at Heartland of Mentor and Hospice for the caring assistance given to Randy. Also, to their many friends and parishes of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby and St. Cyprian Church in Mentor for their prayerful support.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in Perry Cemetery.
