Obituary for Stanley Allen "Bummer" Eckert

Memorial services for Stanley “Bummer” Eckert, 83, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Eckert passed away Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland.
Born May 14, 1932, in Painesville, he had been a lifetime Lake County resident.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, member of V.F.W. Post 1500 in Willoughby, and a member of AmVets Post 1971 in Perry. He loved golfing and enjoyed hunting.
He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Nadine M. (nee Cousineau) Eckert; loving father of Allen S. (JoAnn) Eckert and Tammy M. Eckert; cherished grandfather of Bradley Eckert; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Flore and Vera (nee Fleming) Eckert; brothers, Eugene and Davey Eckert; and sister-in-law, Sue Eckert.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will be private.
