Joseph J  Polakowski
Funeral Mass for Joseph J. Polakowski, 87, of Perry, will be 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Vianney Church, 7575 Bellflower Road, Mentor. Fr. Tom Johns will officiate the Mass.
Mr. Polakowski passed away Thursday, June 4, 2015, at his residence in Perry.
Born Feb. 22, 1928, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 61 years, living in Willowick and Mentor before moving to Perry.
He was a member of St. John Vianney Church in Mentor, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree Don Bosco Council 4801 of Mentor, 4th Degree Cardinal Newman General Assembly 837 of Lake County, and the Men of Praise. He loved fishing and gardening and enjoyed being a mall walker.
Mr. Polakowski was the beloved husband of 64 years to Joan E. (nee Sindledecker) Polakowski; loving father of Thomas A. (Carol) Polakowski of Lyndhurst, Susan K. (Keith) Kauffman of Avon Lake, Sally L. (Peter Parks) Polakowski of Fairport Harbor, Sandra M. (Frank) Kolasinski of Chardon, Sharon K. (Robert) Isabella of Perry, and Timothy A. (Lisa) Polakowski of Mentor; cherished grandfather of Stephen, Lyndsey, Megan, Jessica, Thomas, Rebecca, Aimee, Bradley, Robert, Bobbi-Marie, Joseph and Benjamin; great-grandfather of Christian; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna (nee Herkender) Polakowski; and siblings, Anthony Polakowski, Angela Tuscany and Maryann Santora.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
