Obituary for Dolores "Dee" Fiore (Mion)

Dolores “Dee” (nee Mion) Fiore passed away April 9, 2015, following a lengthy battle with a variety of ailments.
Mrs. Fiore was a 1964 graduate of Garfield Heights High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the varsity softball team. She graduated from Ohio University in 1968, where she was a statistician for the Bobcat football team with a degree in fine arts. She later completed a Master’s in psychology from O.U.
Mrs. Fiore was an energetic member of the Cleveland Psychological community, operating a private practice out of the Hillcrest Medical Center, as well as serving at Beech Brook, Child Guidance Center, Windsor Hospital and Womensafe. She also held administrative positions with United Psychiatric Group, Targetcare and Richland Hospital. In addition to her psychological service, Mrs. Fiore was a founding partner of Circles of Excellence, where she traveled the Midwestern Region providing team-building presentations for corporations and school groups.
In her time away from work, Mrs. Fiore enjoyed a good cup of coffee, summer vacations to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, shopping, attending her sons’ sporting events, and following the Browns, Indians, and Cavs. Later in life, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, and playing bocce with her friends from St. Bede the Venerable in Mentor, where she was quite active.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; and parents, Renato “Ray” and Theresa (nee Laurenzi) Mion.
She is survived by her sons, Brian, Daniel and Zachary; daughters-in-law, Honey (nee Coulter), Donna (nee Barberio), and Lindsay (nee Carlson); and three grandsons, Giovanni, Rocco and Luca.
A memorial service will be held in Mrs. Fiore’s honor 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lake Shore Blvd., Mentor, where family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, prior to the service. Burial will be held in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in her name to the V Foundation for Cancer Research at www.jimmyv.org.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
