Richard  J  Mahoney
Richard J. Mahoney, 72, of Concord Township, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at TriPoint Medical Center in Concord Township.
Born May 26, 1946, in Cleveland, he had been a lifetime Lake County resident.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a friend of Bill W. for 30 years on St. Patrick’s Day. Richard helped a lot of people, was very compassionate and loved his family, yard and nature.
Mr. Mahoney was the “flagman of his condominium development.”
He was the loving husband of 23 years to Colleen A. (nee Ziegler) Mahoney; father of Richard J. Mahoney, Rick Parker, Charles (Jenny) Ware, Christina (John) Barrett, Cindy (Stacey) Robinson and Connie (Tony) Tarach; grandfather of many; former husband of Ethel “Crickett” Mahoney; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Georgia Parker; parents, Jack and Hazel (nee Gamble) Mahoney; and siblings, Marilyn Scranton and Billie Curlin.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a celebration of life to be held at 7:30 p.m.
