Obituary for Albert M Kanetsky

Funeral Mass for Albert M. Kanetsky, 70, of Rocky River, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Kanetsky passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at his residence.
Born Nov. 24, 1946, in Youngstown, he had been a resident of Lake County for 39 years, living in Willoughby before moving to Rocky River two years ago.
Al was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Willoughby, where he was a member of the church’s Holy Name Society and Men’s Softball team. Al was also a member of the Cleveland Chemicals Association, Japan Society, and the Cleveland Council on World Affairs. Mr. Kanetsky was a U.S. Air Force veteran, an avid sports fan, and enjoyed golf and softball. His family was very important to him, especially his grandchildren.
Al was the beloved husband of 47 years to Setsuko (nee Sato) Kanetsky; loving father of Mike (Cheryl) Kanetsky, Cathy (Eric) Pfaff, Tanya (Tom) Purdy, Nancy (Brian) Merritt and Jen (Tom) Watson; cherished grandfather of Stephanie, Ryan, Joey, Jake, Josh, Garrison, Alex and Margaux; brother of Kandy Budd, Marty (Mary Ann) Kanetsky, John Kanetsky and Joseph Kanetsky; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mary (nee Martinko) Kanetsky.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
