Obituary for Mary Ann Medved

Funeral Mass for Mary Ann (nee Rafter) Medved, 80, of Wickliffe, will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 29850 Euclid Ave., Wickliffe. Fr. John Retar will officiate the Mass. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Mrs. Medved passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Mt. Alverna Village in Parma.
She was born April 29, 1937, in Cleveland.
Mary Ann was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Wickliffe and a graduate of Hoban Dominican High School and Notre Dame College, where she obtained a degree in accounting. She enjoyed her many years teaching at Wickliffe Preschool, as well as sewing and quilting.
She was the loving mother of Albert R. (Ruth) Medved Jr., Thomas F. Medved, and Paul J. Medved; cherished grandmother of Thomas, Joseph, Megan, Mackenzie, Mitchell, and Loretta Medved (Mohamadali Ebrahim); great-grandmother of Parissa and Sarina; sister of Sr. Loretta Rafter, Catherine Rafter and John Rafter; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Albert R. Medved Sr. in 2010; son, John E. Medved in 2007; parents, John J. and Anna (nee Klinger) Rafter; and sister, Rita Phillips.
Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name are suggested to Holy Family Hospice, 6707 State Road, Parma, OH 44134.
Arrangements are entrusted to McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes in Willoughby and Mentor.
