Obituary for William V Spakes Jr.
William V. Spakes Jr., 58, of Lansing, Mich., passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at Hospice House of Shiwasse County, in Owosso, Mich.
Born May 5, 1964, in Willoughby, he had lived in Painesville before moving to Lansing, eight years ago.
Bill was an avid sports fan, loved working in his yard, and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was the loving father of William Spakes III, Summer Spakes and Kenny (Heather) Spakes Sr.; cherished grandfather of Austin Spakes, Kayla Spakes, Kenny Spakes Jr., Caleb Spakes, Robert Spakes, Anthony Spakes and Autumn Spakes; and dear brother of Debbie Korney and Greg Spakes. He also leaves his loving companion, Monica Tackett.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William V. Sr. and Barbara (nee Oaks) Spakes; and brother-in-law, Tom Korney.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Freedom Assembly of God, 5420 W. Heisley Road, Mentor, with a Celebration of Life service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Jason Tatterson officiate.
