Wayne W. Walters, 82, of Chesterland, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence.
Born Jan. 14, 1939, in Travers City, Mich., he had been a resident of Geauga County for 44 years.
Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War and received a Purple Heart. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and loved riding in his Camaro Convertible and spoiling his dog, Dino.
He was the beloved husband of almost 60 years to Jennie C. (nee Pinzone) Walters; loving father of Wayne (Sheila) Walters, Kristine (Bill) Peltz and Linda (Anthony) Kosley; cherished grandfather of Wayne, Stuart, Ashley, Anthony, Billy, Dominic, Gianna, Celina, Vince and Alyssa; brother of Debbie (Don) Thornton; uncle of Renee (Bob) Guido, Joanne Minite, Theresa (Ron) Ulanski, Danielle Thornton and Matt Thornton; and a great-uncle.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Williard J. and Jackie (nee Kennedy) Walters; and nephew, Lou (Lori, survives) Monaco.
Private family services were held with burial at Western Reserve Memorial Garden in Chester Township.
