Obituary for Ronette A. Strand
Funeral Mass for Ronette A. (nee Shirer) Strand, 76, of Eastlake, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at St. Justin Martyr Church, 35781 Stevens Boulevard, Eastlake. Father Kevin Liebhardt officiating.
Ronette passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Lake West Medical Center in Willoughby.
She was born June 25, 1946, in Cleveland.
Ronette was a member of St. Justin Martyr Church, Eastlake. She was a former member of the Eastlake Senior Citizen Center and helped with the Meals on Wheels program. Walking was her favorite pastime and she enjoyed spending time with her animals, and collecting angels, nutcrackers and carousels.
Ronette was the loving mother of James W. Strand Jr.; cherished grandmother of Shaun (Janna) Strand, and Amber (Daniel Jr.) Sizemore; great-grandmother of Karsyn Sizemore, Raegan Sizemore, and Tucker Strand; sister-in-law of Joseph (Dorothy) Strand; and aunt to many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James W. Strand Sr. in 2011; parents, Robert and Rita (nee Nowak) Shirer; brother, Robert G. Shirer Jr. and sister, Roberta (Walter, dec.) Drum.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby. Burial will be at Willoughby Cemetery at a later date.
