Obituary for Roger Segers
Funeral services for Roger Segers, 85, of Mentor, will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, at Mentor Plains United Methodist Church, 7271 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060. Pastor Karen Hollingsworth will be the celebrant.
Roger passed away Monday, May 17, 2021, in Mentor.
Born Feb. 6, 1936, in Turnhout, Belgium, he married Marilyn in 1999 and lived in both countries for a number of years. He obtained his U.S. Citizenship in 2008, and had remained full-time in Mentor for the past five years.
Roger was a language teacher and a model railroader.
He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Rodgers Segers of Mentor; loving father of Peter (Veronique) Segers of Herent, Belgium, Holly Rodgers Hall (John) of Catawba Island, Ohio, and Kelly Rodgers Condon (Kevin) of Butler, Pa.; and cherished grandfather of Thomas (Natalie) Segers of Turnhout, Belgium, Elise (Niels) Segers of Leuven, Belgium, Jonathan (Rebecca) Condon of Butler, Pa., and Nicholas Condon of Slippery Rock, Pa.
Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Carolina Baelus Segers.
Interment will take place in Belgium.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to Mentor Plains United Methodist Church at the address above.
