Robert D. “Beer Bob” Rath, 43, of Mentor, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2021, at his residence.
Born Feb. 15, 1977, in Willoughby, he had been a lifetime resident of Lake County.
Bobby loved to coach and was always involved with youth athletics. He enjoyed sporting events and was always supporting family and friends. Bobby also enjoyed softball, bowling, golf, darts, playing poker, fantasy sports, concerts, and pool leagues. He was a dedicated “man of leisure,” a true beer enthusiast, a card carrying member of the Brewery Collectibles Club of America and a regular attendee of their annual CANvention. Bobby made friends with everyone he met, had a playful sense of humor, and was always up for a fun adventure.
Bobby was the beloved son of Patricia A. (nee Joyce) Rath; loving brother of Scott D. Rath, Becki A. (Jeff) Gierman, and Michael D. Rath; and uncle of Bailey Higgins, June Rath, Reese Rath, Mac Rath, Leilah Rath, Julia Gierman and David Gierman.
He was preceded in death by his father, David L. Rath.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be private.
