Obituary for Robert L Laffey

Funeral Mass for Robert L. Laffey, 94, of Euclid, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at Ss. Robert and William Church, 367 E. 260th St., Euclid.
Robert passed away Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Dec. 31, 1927, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Euclid for 64 years.
Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a 1946 graduate of Cathedral Latin High School and St. Thomas Aquinas grade school, was a member of Ss. Robert and William Church, the Irish American Club East-Side Inc., and enjoyed gardening, walking and delivering veggies to his neighbors. Most of all, Robert loved his grandchildren dearly.
He was the loving father of Therese A. Hasul, Timothy T. (Mary Jo) Laffey, Colleen C. Laffey, Michael C. (Kathleen) Laffey, Brian P. (Barbara) Laffey and Eileen M. Adkins; cherished grandfather of Sarah (Thomas), Patrick, (Margot), Erin (John), Ceili, Christopher, Kyle, Keara, Michael, Patrick (Thalia), Bridget, Liz, Paul, Danny, Meaghan, Brendan (Ginger), and Johannah (Alex); great-grandfather of Tyler, Kennedy, Brennan, Dominic, Clare, Lucas, Carmine, Sloane, James, Hailey, Christopher, Nicholas, Sienna, Antonio, Nora, Charlotte, Jade, Kyle and Noah; and uncle of nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ellen (nee Byrnes) Laffey in 2011; son, Gregory L. “Chopper” Laffey; grandson, Sean P.; parents, Lawrence E. and Henrietta (nee Dishinger) Laffey; and sister, Geraldine Miller.
Family will receive friends from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
