Obituary for Robert H "Hank" Egan
Funeral Mass for Robert H. “Hank” Egan, 60, of Lyndhurst, will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at the Church of The Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd., University Heights.
Rob passed away Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at Hospice House of the Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born Dec. 29, 1962, in Cleveland, he had been a lifetime resident of Cuyahoga County.
His true love was Beth, but his first love was fishing. Rob loved his kids and never missed any of their sporting events. He also loved golfing and spending time with his family and friends at Marco Island, Lake Chautauqua and Cross Creek.
Rob was the beloved husband of 27 years to Beth Ann (nee McGarry) Egan; loving father of Jack L. Egan (Sydney Jablonski), and Kathleen A. Egan; dear son of Patricia M. (nee Ashton) Egan; brother of Kathleen (Karl) Brown, Susan (Ken) Block, John (Claudia) Egan, Jean Langan and Michael (Ann) Egan; son-in-law of Patricia McGarry; brother-in-law of Lawrence (Catherine) McGarry Jr.; and the cherished uncle and friend of many, including his lifelong Gesu classmates.
He was preceded in death by his father, John L. Egan; father-in-law, Lawrence McGarry Sr.; brother-in-law, Tim Langan; and niece, Lauren Block.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), in Mentor. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
