Obituary for Rita B Vitalone
Funeral Mass for Rita B. (nee Napoli) Vitalone, 90, of Willoughby, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. (Family and friends are asked to please meet at church.)
Rita passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, at Lake Health West Medical Center in Willoughby.
She was born March 5, 1930, in Cleveland.
Rita was married to Bruno Dec. 1, 1951, and they remained together until his death in May 2000. She was a homemaker, mother of 10 children and grandmother to 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Rita was the heartstring of the Vitalone family and is most remembered for her strong faith and kind, gentle heart. Rita was known for her love, compassion and devotion to God and to her family. Famous for her meatballs, hugs and for being the “World’s Best Nonna (Nana).”
Rita was the loving mother of Mary C., Anthony P. (Theresa), Richard, Marianna, Concetta (Mike) Alfieri, Michael (Vicky), John, Nicholas, and Rita; cherished grandmother of Matthew and Mitchell Herasuta, Gia, Michael (Aubrey) and Angelo Alfieri, Alexander and Lauren Skulina, Helene (Chris) Vitalone-Casper, Dominic (Kristy), Amanda (Jesse), Annamarie, Angela (Chris) Junda, Rachel, Gabriella, Kara Mia, Marissa, Mia Rose, Sara and Lola; great-grandmother of Summer, Reese, Arlo, Aubrey, and Baron; sister-in-law of Grace Vitalone and George (Tina) Vitalone; mother-in-law of Debra Medved; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bruno Vitalone; son, Joseph Vitalone; parents, Guiseppe and Marianna (nee DeTorre) Napoli and Concetta Napoli; siblings, Nicolena Napoli and Gaetana Napoli; father-in-law and mother-in-law Antonio and Maria Vitalone and brother-in-law, Carmen Vitalone.
Burial will follow the Mass at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
