Obituary for Rita Faye Freeman

Rita Faye (nee Shaffer) Freeman, 75, of Willoughby, passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, 2022, with her family at her side.
Born May 15, 1946, in Rowlesburg, W.Va., she had been a lifetime resident of Lake County.
Rita proudly worked and retired from PPG (Pittsburgh Paint and Glass), retiring in 2017, after 25 years of service.
She was the loving mother of Terri L. (Kevin) Heidinger of Liberty Township and Russell W. (Danielle) Freeman of Avon Lake; cherished grandmother of Harper and Landry; dear aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Elza Loren and Sarah Ellen Shaffer; and siblings, Lilan Grimm, Wanda Greene, Bonita Elkins, Willard Shaffer, Clyde Shaffer, Robert Shaffer, and Charles Shaffer.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 12 p.m. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
