Obituary for Richard Turk

"Together Again"
Funeral Mass for Richard Turk 90, of Mentor, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, at Immaculate Conception Church, 37940 Euclid Ave., Willoughby.
Mr. Turk passed away Thursday, Dec. 10, 2020, at Ohman Family Living at Briar, in Middlefield.
He was born Oct. 27, 1930, in Cleveland, to Caroline (nee Kmet) and Frank Turk.
Richard proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of Palmer-Roberts American Legion Post 214 in Willoughby. He was a devoted husband and father who possessed a strong work eithic. He also enjoyed taking his children bowling after church services and loved preparing Sunday dinner every week, as well as every holiday meal. Richard was proud to coach his sons throughout their years playing baseball for the Willoughby Baseball League and cherished many years camping and fishing with his family, especially with his grandchildren at Holiday Camplands in Andover. He was an avid Pinochle player and never missed an opportunity to get in on a game.
Mr. Turk was a retired electrical engineer and had worked at Clevelite/Gould/Westinghouse.
Richard was the loving father of Richard (Diane Chambers) Turk, Robert (Pam Wright) Turk, Thomas Turk, Susanne (Tony) Dengel and Jennifer (Michael) Chauby; cherished grandfather of Rich (Jen Stitz) Turk, Melissa Turk, Sara (Matt) Border, Stefanie, (Kevin) Amrine, Shelley Turk, Tom (Felicia Lange) Turk, Michael Turk, Kelli (Mike) Stegh, Stephen (Leeann Boozer) Kormos, Anthony Dengel, Domenic Dengel, Matthew Chauby, Michael Chauby and Marcus Chauby; dearest great-grandfather of Chase, Mason, Christian, Olivia, Maddie, Rylan, Isabella, Sterling, James and Vera; brother of Joan (Ed) Woc; and uncle of many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances (nee Bury); parents; and siblings, Dorothy (Joseph) Strumble, Eleanore (Bernard) Knuff, Irene (Joseph) Petrulis, Clarence (Mary Mezic) Turk, Frank (Antoinette Kolegar) Turk, Elmer (Jean Zelexnik) Turk, Esther (Milan) Kecevar, Theresa (Joseph) Rakar and Constance (Frank) Zelko.
Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Ave., Willoughby. Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Township.
