Obituary for Reilly Lynne Girardot
Reilly Lynne Girardot, born June 19, 1998, age 22, of Shaker Heights passed away May 27, 2021.
She was a proud graduate of Gesu School, Beaumont School and John Carroll University. She was pursuing a dream of becoming a physical therapist when cancer disrupted her plans.
Reilly was an amazing daughter to Rob and Julie Girardot; wonderful sister to Jake Girardot; and devoted to the love of her life, John Mhanna. She was also a beloved granddaughter of Ed and Sharon Ahlfors and Harry and Bev Girardot; a cherished niece, cousin, and a dear friend to many.
She truly lived by the motto “remember to always squeeze the juice out of life,” and with a lively personality embraced all life had to offer. She had a funny, sarcastic view of the world. It was never a dull moment when Reilly was in the room.
Reilly had a profound love of nature and hiking. She skydived, finished a half marathon, visited 20 countries by age 20, and was gearing up to travel to all U.S. National Parks in “Cherry,” her prized red Jeep. Reilly was an avid soccer fan and loved being on the pitch, coaching and mentoring student athletes. She loved her family and friends and valued her time with all. For Christmas and birthdays, Reilly thoroughly enjoyed finding the perfect gifts for her loved ones. She was quick to volunteer if someone needed help.
Reilly would wish for you to do an act of kindness for someone, in her memory. She will be forever loved, remembered, and terribly missed by so many.
We will be honoring her life during visitation from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, at Fioritto Funeral Service, 5236 Mayfield Rd., Lyndhurst. Funeral will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 2, at The Church of the Gesu, 2470 Miramar Blvd., in University Heights. You are encouraged to wear a bright color in celebration of Reilly’s life.
