Obituary for Raymond J Lancaster
Funeral Mass for Raymond J. Lancaster, 86, of Willowick, will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, at St. Mary Magdalene Church, 32114 Vine St., Willowick.
Raymond passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023, at Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
Born Sept. 20, 1936, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for 57 years.
He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick, loved to travel and read, and enjoyed hunting and fishing,
Mr. Lancaster had worked as an educator at Glenville High School for 34 years prior to his retirement. He had also worked at Purvis Park Pool in University Heights as the swimming pool aquatic director.
He was the loving father of Donna M. (James) McDonald, Raymond J. (Janine) Lancaster, Ronald J. Lancaster (Wendy White), Victoria A. (Ken) Walters, Susan A. (Denny) Williams, Renee D. Lancaster and Richard J. (Gena) Lancaster; cherished grandfather of Michael (Brenda), Lucas, Matthew (Allison), Raymond, Jack, Candace, Cody (Lauren), Nicholas, Johnny, Brian (Shelly), Jimi, Andrew, Melanie, Elmer, Richie and Loreene; great-grandfather of Kaden, Noah, Emma and Owen; dear brother of Mary Jean Forrey, Judy (Jim) Koelsch, Roger Lancaster and Richard Lancaster; brother-in-law of Carol Lancaster; and uncle of many.
Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (nee Hurley) Lancaster; grandson, Ronald; parents, Raymond J. and Gisella (nee Hudok) Lancaster; brother, Bob Lancaster; and brother-in-law, Hubert Forrey.
