Obituary for Raymond F Katona

Raymond F. Katona, 82, of Madison, passed away Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021, at Mapleview Country Villa in Chardon.
Born Aug. 25, 1938, in Cleveland, he had been a resident of Lake County for more than five years.
Raymond was a member of the Theodore Breck Masonic Lodge 0714 in Brecksville and was a volunteer fireman with the Madison Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening and growing Bonsai plants. Family was so important and spending time with his children and grandchildren was special.
He was the loving father of Catherine L. Katona, Steven W. (Phyllis) Katona, Christopher M. (Lorrie) Katona, John M. (April) Katona and Robert M. (Karen) Katona; cherished grandfather of Matthew (Lauren) Katona, Rachel Katona, Sarah (Jason) Ray, Tyler Katona, Taylor Katona, Corrie Stuper, Alec Katona, Jordan Stuper, Audra Katona and Sidney Katona; great-grandfather of Ava, Logan, Xavier and Jacob; brother of Donna Wolf; and uncle of a niece and nephew.
Raymond was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jane H. (nee Ruuska) Katona Feb. 16, 2012; and parents, Steve Mike and Catherine Marie (nee Bydash) Katona.
Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at The Abbey of Willoughby, 38011 Euclid Ave. (located on the grounds of McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home), in Willoughby, with a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Mentor Cemetery.
The family suggests contributions in his name be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.
